The collision occurred on US 101 near milepost 61 at approximately 12:09 AM. The 38-year-old woman was driving a red 2003 Mercury Sable traveling southbound on us highway 101. The vehicle lost control and crossed the northbound lanes going into the ditch and struck a tree where it came to rest.

2 passengers in the vehicle, a 9-year-old boy and an 11-year-old girl, were transported to Harborview for their injuries.

The cause of the collision is listed as "Speeds to fast for conditions" Drugs and or alcohol were not involved. both children and the driver had been wearing seatbelts and or in proper restraint.

If you listen to scanner radio traffic it comes to no surprise that shoplifting from local stores is an epidemic and cause of some of the consumer cost increases. We typically hear at least 10 - 15 calls for shoplifters daily.

The Aberdeen Police Depatment says On March 9th, 2024, the Aberdeen Police Department partnered with Walmart to conduct a shoplifting blitz. The blitz resulted in multiple arrests, and most were booked into the Aberdeen City Jail. 

The Grays Harbor County Drug Task Force says they arrested a 31-year-old transient who had been dealing fentanyl.  They said that he had  25 grams of fentanyl powder and $1454.00 cash on him at the time of the arrest.

On February 8, 2024 in Grays Harbor Superior Court, a jury found a sixty-five-year-old Aberdeen female resident guilty of two counts of Violation of the Uniform Controlled Substances Act with Intent to Deliver. The female was sentenced on February 20, 2024 in Grays Harbor Superior to a year and a day in prison and was immediately taken into custody.
