McCleary Police Confirm Arrest of Assaut Suspect that Assaulted Store Employee

Officers with the McCleary Police Department responded Thursday afternoon, March 26, to the 100 block of South 3rd Street following a report of an assault in progress.

Grays Harbor Scanner posted to its Subscribers 1st as an alert that officers were dispatched to Sam’s Food Mart after a customer reportedly punched an employee in the face. The female suspect, who is reported to live across the street from the business, had returned to her residence prior to officers’ arrival.

The McCleary Police Department confirmed in a social media post that they contacted the involved parties and secured the scene. Following a preliminary investigation, officers developed probable cause to believe an assault had occurred. A 26-year-old McCleary resident was taken into custody without incident and transported for booking on a charge of Assault in the Fourth Degree.

No additional details on injuries have been released at this time.

Currently the Grays Harbor County Jail has not posted the name of the involved as a jail booking.
