ABERDEEN, Wash. — Deputies with the Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s Office successfully located and recovered a previously reported stolen vehicle after receiving an alert from the Flock Safety camera system indicating the vehicle had entered the Aberdeen area.
According to authorities, deputies had earlier entered the stolen vehicle’s information into the camera network. On the following day, the system notified law enforcement of the vehicle’s presence locally, prompting a coordinated response.
Working alongside officers from the Aberdeen Police Department and the Hoquiam Police Department, deputies were able to quickly locate the vehicle. The driver, who reportedly has an extensive criminal history that includes multiple felony convictions and dozens of prior arrests, was taken into custody without incident.

The suspect Christopher Ross was booked into the Grays Harbor County Jail on charges of possession of a stolen vehicle.
During the investigation, deputies observed clear signs consistent with vehicle theft. The ignition had been “punched,” and a flathead screwdriver was being used to start and operate the vehicle—methods commonly associated with stolen vehicles.
Authorities also reported discovering drug paraphernalia and suspected methamphetamine inside the vehicle.
Law enforcement officials say the incident highlights the effectiveness of the Flock Safety camera system, which provides real-time alerts that assist officers in locating stolen vehicles and coordinating responses across jurisdictions.
Officials also credited the ongoing cooperation between local agencies and community support as key factors in the swift resolution of the case.
