Commander Green with the Aberdeen Police Department says that they have a 30-year-old Aberdeen man in custody following a 6-hour standoff that occurred on Thursday, July 8th.  

At approximately 12:03PM, Aberdeen Police Officers were dispatched to a report of a subject with a rifle inside a residence in the 900 block of Summit Street, Aberdeen.  Callers were reporting the subject was threatening to kill people in the residence. As officers responded, it was reported that the subject fired a round from the rifle inside the residence.

We have an updated press release from the Grays Harbor Sheriffs Office where they say a man known to Sheriff's Deputies with a known mental health issue refused to comply with officers after he tried to run another driver off the roadway then following her to her campsite at Twin Harbors State Park Grayland confronting her with knives. 

The Scary Situation occurred on July 6th, 2021 at 5:40pm when deputies of the Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a display that had just occurred on SR 105 near Twin Harbor State Park. The reporting party advised dispatch that a male suspect had been closely following her in her vehicle as she traveled on SR 105, and he tried to run her off the road several times. 

In a social media statement, the Cosmopolis Police Department said Friday morning that In the early morning hours of Friday, June 25th, Cosmopolis Police Officers were dispatched to a residence on I Street, in Cosmopolis for a report of a shooting.

The responding officer, with assistance of the Aberdeen Police Department, secured the scene and found a 25-year-old Cosmopolis who man had been shot and was deceased.

A 49-year-old Cosmopolis woman was detained for questioning in the shooting.

Detectives of the Grays Harbor County Sheriffs and Officers of the Cosmopolis Police Department continue the investigation the incident.

No arrest is being made at this time.
