Aberdeen Officers responded to a reported stabbing in the 100 block of North Mill where they eventually learned the dispute was between neighbors over a package delivery (Through GHS Comments we have heard it was an Amazon Package).
According to Commander Green of the Aberdeen Police Department, the incident occurred on August 7th around 5:59 PM, When Aberdeen officers were dispatched to a report of a stabbing that occurred in the 100 block of North Mill Street. Upon arrival, officers located the victim, who stated he got into an argument with a neighbor over a recently delivered package. The neighbor became upset and stabbed the victim one time.
Aberdeen Fire Department Paramedics responded to treat the victim. Aberdeen Police Officers surrounded the suspect’s apartment, and he refused to surrender.
The suspect had outstanding warrants for his arrest and on scene, Aberdeen Regional Crisis Response Operators were able to deploy their ThrowBot to clear the living area of the residence and officers safely made entry into the apartment.
The suspect was located hiding behind a recliner. The suspect, a 51-year-old Aberdeen resident, was taken into custody without further incident.
The package and knife were both recovered. The suspect was transported to the Aberdeen Police Department where he was booked for Assault 4th degree.
A 40-year-old Ocean Shores man, a passenger in a 1995 Nissan Truck was killed when the truck driven by a 37-year-old Ocean Shores woman went off the roadway striking a tree.
According to the Washington State Patrol the 37-year-old Ocean Shores woman was traveling northbound on State Route 109 near milepost 24 approaching a curve that went to the left, the truck went off the roadway to the right striking a tree.
The passenger, Ryan Wilkinson, was pronounced deceased at the scene,
The cause of the collision is still under investigation and the report stated that it is unknown if drugs and or alcohol were involved.
No charges have been filed as of yet.
A 62-year-old Centralia man was killed in a motorcycle collision when a passenger stuck the motorcycle.
According to the Washington State Patrol the motorcyclist was traveling on State Route 12 east of Oakville going westbound riding a 2007 Kawasaki KL650 when a 2007 Chevrolet Corvette driven by a 65-year-old Centralia man driving on Forstrom Rd going northbound crossed State Route 12 striking the motorcyclist.
Initial reports indicated that airlift medevac was called for the motorcyclist however later canceled as the rider died at the scene.
Washington State Patrol says the cause is under investigation and unknown if any drugs or alcohol were involved.
