The Grays Harbor County Sheriffs Department says that just after midnight on Friday August 18th, 2023 they were advised of a missing kayaker last seen in the bay near Grays Harbor city near Hoquiam. The reporting party advised deputies that he and his girlfriend were kayaking in the bay, and around midnight the day before they decided to pull within 20 feet of the shoreline and sleep for the night in their kayaks.
When the reporting party woke up on the morning of 8-17-23 his girlfriend was missing. Her personal belongings were still in her kayak, but she was not. The reporting party stated he searched all day up the nearby coastline for his girlfriend, but was unable to locate her. He then decided to kayak to shore and contact the police for assistance.
The Grays Harbor County Sheriffs Department said in a social media post that deputies responded to Vance Creek Park just outside of Elma Friday evening after a woman called and demanded to be arrested on warrants, later driving her car into the pond prior to the arrival of officers.

According to the informational release no suspects are being looked for, the investigation continues.
The WSP report says that the collision occurred 11:53 AM when the teen was eastbound on SR 8 at milepost 3 in late 2, the passing late when he failed to negotiate the curve and went into the media, striking the cable barrier.
The teen was riding a 2014 Green Kawasaki EX300
The teen was taken to Harborview Medical Center for his injuries. It is not mentioned if he was traveling with an adult or any other motorcyclists.
At 5:11 Friday morning, Pacific County 911 Dispatch received a call about a female who had entered a home in the Surfside area and attempted to take a child. The alleged kidnapping was stopped by a family member in the house.
The suspect then went back to their residence in the same neighborhood where a Pacific County Sheriff's Sergeant attempted contacting her. The suspect refused to answer the door or speak to the Sergeant. A search warrant was applied for and granted. Due to reports of a firearm being carried by the suspect, the search warrant was considered higher risk.
Shortly before 2:00 p.m., the Pacific County Sheriff's Office executed the warrant on the residence and took the suspect into custody without incident. The suspect was transported to a local hospital for clearance to be booked into the Jail for the charges of Kidnapping and Residential Burglary.
