According to the Washington State Patrol a 70 year old Port Angeles man was killed in a traffic collision on July 19th, 2024 on State Route 8 at the intersection to State Route 108 just before noon.

The Port Angeles man, a driver of a 2001 silver Honda CRV was on State Route 108 approaching State Route 8 stopped at the stop sign. He attempted to make a left turn to go eastbound on State Route 8 crossing in front of a 2003 Ford E35 (Rv) driven by a 66 Yelm man with a 67-year-old passenger, also of Yelm. The RV, Ford, struck the Honda CRV (T-bone) blocking westbound lanes and the median.
Both the Yelm man and his passenger were transported to Summit Pacific for their injuries. While CPR was initiated on the Port Angeles man at the scene, he was pronounced deceased. The name of the Port Angeles man has not been released pending next of kin notification.
