52-Year -Old Cosmopolis Man Arrested After Shooting On State Route 8 Monday

The Washington State Patrol says that a 52-year-old Cosmopolis man, Bradley Bach, was arrested in the shooting incident on State Route 8 outside of McCleary Monday morning July 1st, 2024.

The incident occurred on July 1st, 2024 at 10:36 AM in the eastbound lanes of State Route 8 near milepost 5 between Elma and McCleary. Bach, driving a Maroon 2010 Honda Accord for an undisclosed reason, fired shots at a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado that was driven by a 67-year-old Olympia woman also traveling in the eastbound direction of SR 8. Bach missed hitting the Silverado and instead struck a white 2014 Ford Escape driven by a 33-year-old Montesano woman with a 40-year-old male passenger and 2 juveniles.

Bach then struck the Silverado with his vehicle that continued on towards McCleary that had called 911 and was in route to McCleary PD for contact. Bach, in the Honda, and the Montesano woman in the Ford Escape Stopped along the roadway on State Route 8.

Initial radio traffic indicated that the red Honda passenger car was catching fire after the collision, and that the driver may have head injuries. According to the Washington State Patrol, Bach was transported to Summit Pacific for medical evaluation.
