A 63 yer old Raymond, Washington man is being charged with 2 counts of vehicular Assault after a DUI collision in Pacific County on Tuesday just north of Raymond on US 101.
Thurston County Sheriff's Deputies took over a pursuit from Lewis County yesterday after their deputies called off the pursuit after the suspects in a fleeing car called 911 saying that the deputies needed to stop the pursuit as they had a child in the car.
The incident took place on June 26th, 2023 - Lewis County law enforcement pursued a vehicle for Robbery 2nd degree toward the Thurston County line. Lewis County law enforcement conducted a PIT maneuver, but the driver was able to keep going. Lewis County law enforcement terminated after the fleeing driver called 911 and demanded LE cease their pursuit because they had a baby in the car.
The collision happened at 9:11 PM on State Route 103 near Cranberry RD on Sunday, June 20th. A 49-year-old Ridgefield, Washington woman was traveling northbound state route 103 just south of Cranberry Road when she reached to retrieve an item inside the Vehicle. The vehicle then left the roadway and struck a power pole.
The driver was transported by aid to OceanBbeach hosptial, no alcohol or other imparment was involved.
On Saturday, June 10th at about 8:20 am, Aberdeen Officers were dispatched to a rescue at Aberdeen Lake. It was reported that a subject’s kayak had overturned in the water about 100-yards from the boat ramp. The subject, who was later identified as a 43-year old Hoquiam resident, was briefly observed attempting to swim and pull the kayak back to shore before going underwater.
The Grays Harbor County Coroner has identified that man as 43-year-old Hoquiam resident, Aaron Charles Lewis. The cause of death is still pending, awaiting confirmation.
The Aberdeen Police along with the Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s Office responded. Aberdeen drone pilots deployed their drone and the GHSO Marine unit deployed their boat in an effort to locate the subject. Due to the length of time under water without any visible signs of the subject, the call was changed to a recovery.
The Thurston County dive team was summoned for assistance. The TC Dive team responded and was able to locate the victim at about 7:00 pm. The body was removed from the water and turned over to the Grays Harbor County Coroner’s Office.
There was no indication of foul play and just a very unfortunate, tragic incident.
