Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck In Roadway On US 101 Thursday Morning

The Washington State Patrol has confirmed that the pedestrian that was stuck this morning on US 101 near South Shore Road in Quinault died at the scene of the collision. As many have speculated, this was the pedestrian that has been seen all over the county walking with a shopping cart, from McCleary, down south towards Raymond and now all the way up to Quinault.

The pedestrian, a 61-year-old man with a Corvallis Oregon address had been reported as in and out of the roadway prior to the incident with WSP responding to the area to check the welfare prior according to radio traffic on GHScanner.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the pedestrian with his shopping cart was in the northbound lane on US HWY 101 at milepost 126 when he was struck by a 2007 White Ford Econo Van driven by a 35-year-old Hoquiam man that was northbound on 101.

There were 4 other adult passengers in the van none having any injuries nor any reported impairment.

The cause of the collision has been listed as pedestrian in the roadway.
