MCCLEARY – From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 24, State Route 8 traffic in the McCleary area will be stopped several times. Drivers can expect delays of up to 15 minutes.
The traffic stops will allow contractor crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation to deliver and install four large bridge girders as part of the project to remove barriers to fish under SR 8.
The SR 8 - Middle and East Forks Wildcat Creek - Remove Fish Barriers project is part of WSDOT’s overall program, which identifies and removes barriers to fish passage caused by culverts under state highways.
SR 8 in McCleary remains reduced to one lane in each direction, around the clock for the duration of the project. The project is expected to be complete by spring 2019.
