Two drivers were injured in a collision on State Route 12 near Schouweiler Road in Grays Harbor County Wednesday morning, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The collision was reported at about 6:59 a.m. on Oct. 7. The patrol’s report says a westbound Ford pickup was struck by an eastbound Subaru as the Subaru driver attempted to turn left across the highway and failed to yield.

Both drivers, a 25-year-old Ocean Shores man and a 48-year-old Spanaway man, were injured and taken to Summit Pacific Medical Center. Both were wearing seat belts.

The report lists DUI and defective brakes as contributing factors. The Subaru driver was cited for vehicular assault, DUI, defective brakes and no insurance.

Both vehicles were totaled. The collision left the Subaru in a westbound lane and the pickup blocking the westbound on-ramp from Schouweiler Road.
