Westport Police recovered nearly $10,000 in stolen items this week after a detailed investigation into a recent residential burglary.
The case began earlier this month when a local resident reported a break-in and several missing belongings. Officers spent hours combing through leads and conducting follow-up work, ultimately identifying a suspected residence connected to the theft. Investigators obtained a search warrant for a home in the 400 block of South Forrest Street.
During the search, officers located and recovered approximately $10,000 worth of stolen property. All items have since been returned to the victim.
A 52-year-old Tacoma man found at the residence was arrested and booked on charges of residential burglary and first-degree theft.
The department noted that the successful recovery underscores the dedication and persistence of officers working to safeguard the community.
