December 10, 2025 — The Cosmopolis Police Department has confirmed that the city’s Chief of Police was involved in a serious two-vehicle collision Wednesday afternoon in Raymond.
The crash occurred at approximately 4:30 PM at the intersection of US 101 and Franklin Street. According to preliminary information, the Chief was traveling southbound on US 101 in a marked patrol vehicle when another vehicle, heading east on Franklin Street, reportedly failed to yield at a stop sign and entered the roadway. The vehicle collided with the patrol car in a T-bone impact, causing significant damage to both vehicles.

Despite the collision, the Chief was able to move the patrol car out of the roadway. With emergency lights activated, he directed traffic and provided aid to the other driver to prevent additional accidents until first responders arrived on scene.
The driver of the second vehicle was transported to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment of injuries. The Chief of Police was also taken to a nearby hospital, where he is undergoing X-ray imaging for a possible wrist injury.
Because the incident occurred within Raymond city limits, the Raymond Police Department is leading the investigation. Cosmopolis Police officials say they are fully cooperating.
