On December 19th, around 1:00 PM Grays Harbor Scanner had posted an active incident that appeared to be a civil dispute that resulted in a shooting. The Grays Harbor County Sheriffs Department said today, December 23rd, 2024 that they have arrested the shooter after determining that this was an assault, and not self defense.

In a social media post, the Grays Harbor County Sheriffs Department says that on Thursday, December 19th at about 1:00pm, Grays Harbor County Deputies responded to the 500 block of W Grace Street in Oakville in response to a reported shooting which had just occurred.
Also responding to assist were officers from the Elma, McCLeary, and Chehalis Tribal Police Departments.
Upon arrival, deputies located a 57-year-old male victim who was still conscious and had been shot multiple times. The reported suspect, who was one of the subjects who had called 911 to report the shooting, was also still on scene. The weapon used was recovered and seized as evidence. The victim was transported by medical personnel, and eventually Life-Flighted to a Tacoma hospital.
After treatment, the victim was released from the hospital.
Detectives were called to the scene to investigate and began to collect physical evidence, as well as locate and interview potential witnesses. Over the next several days multiple witnesses were interviewed, and it became apparent this incident had occurred as a result of an ongoing property dispute between the two subjects.
On Monday, December 23rd detectives arrested Anthony Nolan, a 55-year-old Oakville resident for Assault 1st degree.
