QUEETS – US 101 travelers near Queets will start seeing temporary changes to the roadway.

Beginning Tuesday, May 27, the speed limit on US 101 will be reduced from 60 mph to 25 mph at the following locations:

• milepost 152.25 to milepost 152.72

• milepost 142.15 to milepost 142.90

• milepost 137.12 to milepost 137.51

• milepost 134.99 to milepost 135.89

Travelers will see temporary traffic lights alternating traffic in a single lane around the clock through the fall.

Contractor crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation are building temporary one-lane bypass roads at six fish passage sites. The bypass roads will keep people moving while crews replace outdated culverts under the highway.

The work is part of a larger effort to remove barriers to fish under US 101.
