🐴 TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF HORSE FACILITIES

The Grays Harbor County Fairgrounds said yesterday that for the safety of both animals and the community, local horse stalls and arenas will be closed from November 19 through December 3.

Officials say several horses returning from recent events in Oklahoma and Texas may have been exposed to a contagious illness. While no cases have been confirmed locally, the closure is a precautionary step to protect all animals on-site.

During the 2-week closure:

• No horses will be allowed on the grounds
• All stalls and arenas will remain closed
• Staff will continue enhanced sanitizing and follow guidance from veterinarians
