The Aberdeen Police Departmet has released an update on a story that we shared with our overnight call catch up with scanner radio traffic audio where an Aberdeen Police Department officer initiated a vehicle pursuit, that turned into a foot puruit, capturing the suspect.

On 02-15-25 at approximately 2139 hrs, Aberdeen Officers were working a proactive patrol detail to combat an ongoing problem with illegal drugs and graffiti in our neighborhoods.
While patrolling in the area of the 200 Blk of North F Street, they observed a vehicle speeding above the posted speed limit and failing to stop at stop signs. The officers caught up to the vehicle which was still driving at a high rate of speed. After a brief vehicle pursuit, the suspect vehicle turned north in the 900 Blk of I Street where the driver abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot

The suspect Kevin Rymer (According to Jail Booking Records) a 49 YO Aberdeen man was found hiding nearby and taken into custody. The suspect was found to be in possession of Fentanyl and his vehicle was seized for the application of a search warrant.
In total, 340.2g of Fentanyl and 98.4g of Heroin was seized.
The driver was processed into the Aberdeen Jail for Failing to Yield to a Police Vehicle, Driving While License Suspended, Manufacturing and Delivery of Narcotics and Obstructing a Law Enforcement Officer.
