17-Year-Old Makes Threats With Fire Arm Over Tennis Shoes Arrestred.

On January 20, 2025, at 3:07 p.m., Aberdeen officers were dispatched to a weapons complaint in the 100 block of W. 2nd Street following an argument over a pair of shoes.

Upon arrival, officers learned that the 17-year-old male Aberdeen resident had fled the scene before they arrived. The victims stated that the suspect had been wearing a pair of shoes that belonged to another male who was visiting the residence. When confronted about the shoes, the suspect pulled out a revolver, pointed it at one of the victims, and threatened to kill him. At the time of the threat, other adults and small children were also present in the residence.

During the investigation, officers received information that the suspect was located at a residence in the 1700 block of Bay Avenue in Aberdeen. Officers went to the location and announced their presence. The suspect, along with an 18-year-old female Aberdeen resident, exited the house. The 17-year-old suspect was arrested without incident. The 18-year-old was arrested after attempting to enter the patrol vehicle to join the male suspect who had just been taken into custody.

The adult responsible for the house allowed the Aberdeen Police Department to search for the firearm. The pistol described by the victims was located inside the residence.

The 17-year-old was booked into the Grays Harbor County Juvenile Detention Facility for Assault in the 2nd Degree and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm. The 18-year-old was booked into the Aberdeen City Jail for Resisting Arrest and Obstructing a Law Enforcement Officer.
