The Mason County Sheriffs Department still hasn't said anything about the shooting incident that they said Michael Beyer was involved with that started the request for the attempt to locate in the first place.

The Mason County Sheriffs Department originally posted to their social media account saying "The Mason County Sheriff’s Office has an arrest warrant for Micheal Allen Beyer for Assault 1 and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm 1 regarding a shooting that occurred in Belfair on 1/6/2025".

On January 9, 2025, Deputies with the Mason County Sheriff’s Office successfully apprehended Michael Beyer following a vehicle pursuit that began near Allyn and concluded on E Royce Road.

Beyer, who had an active warrant for Assault 1st Degree and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, was taken into custody after attempting to evade law enforcement as a passenger in a fleeing vehicle. The driver of the vehicle, a 46-year-old female, was also arrested for Attempting to Elude Law Enforcement and Rendering Criminal Assistance 1st Degree. The pursuit ended safely after deputies deployed spike strips near E Anthony Road.

The Sheriffs Department said that this incident underscores the importance of recent updates to Washington State law allowing law enforcement to pursue vehicles in specific situations. Without the ability to conduct this pursuit, capturing this dangerous fugitive and ensuring public safety would have been significantly more challenging.

They went on to say that they are proud of our Deputies' quick actions and professionalism in resolving this incident safely and thank our community for your ongoing support as we work to keep Mason County safe.
