Driver Airlifted From The Scene After Collision On SR 12 Near Elma Tuesday

The Washington State Patrol says in an updated report that one driver was flown to St. Josephs Tacoma for his injuries and 2 others taken to Summit Pacific Elma for their injuries after a 2 vehicle collision on State Route 12 Tuesday afternoon.

The collision occurred on State Route 12 in the westbound direction at 4th Street South, Satsop on Tuesday, October 22nd, 2024 at 1:43 PM when an 72-year-old Elma man driving a blue 2008 Hyundai Accent going eastbound on State Route 12, went to make a left-hand turn at the intersection to 4th St S Satsop when he failed to yield to a White 2024 KIA Forte driven by a 32 year old Lacey woman. The KIA Forte struck the Elma mans vehicle. Both vehicles came to a stop in the westbound lanes of SR 12.

The Elma man was flown from the scene by Airlift NW to a Tacoma hospital, the driver of the Kia Forte and a passenger a 55 year old Aberdeen woman was taken to Summit Pacific Elma.

The Elma man is being charged with NEGLIGENT DRIVING SECOND DEGREE no drugs or alcohol were a factor in the collision.
