62-Year-Old Elma Man Killed in Collision In Mason County Sunday Evening.

Passing in a no passing zone, that is what the Washington State Patrol says is the cause of a collision that killed a 62-year-old Elma man on Sunday evening, August 4th, 2024.

According to the report, the collision occurred on August 4th 2024 at 6:07 p.m. at US 101 milepost 339 near the Skokomish River.

Both vehicles involved were northbound on US 101, a white 1998 Dodge caravan driven by a 23-year-old Shelton man was making a left hand turn on US 101 when a black 2004 Honda motorcycle driven by a 62-year-old Elmo man Thomas Toby who then struck the Dodge caravan as the caravan was making its turn. Toby was deceased at the scene, with next of kin completed by the Mason County coroner's office. The 23-year-old Shelton man sustained no injuries, cause of the collision passing in a no passing zone.
