The Grays Harbor County Sheriffs Department released a vague statement by social media Friday morning after we sent a request for a press release and further information to them by email that went unanswered egarding a body of a man that was found on N Blockhouse RD earlier this week. This was an alert that we sent out to our subscribers at the time, and awaited further response from the responding agency.

On 07/30/24 at about 1128 AM deputies responded to State Route 12 & N Blockhouse Rd for a reported deceased subject. The call was made by a railroad employee working in the area. Upon arrival, the subject was located, checked by aid, and confirmed to be deceased. Detectives were immediately called to the scene and began to investigate. The subject was identified as 49-year-old Chad S. Fries. Evidence was collected at the scene and the remains were released to the coroner. Detectives also traveled to Mr. Fries’ residence, which is located in the area. An Autopsy was conducted in Thurston County. At this time, there is no evidence that Mr. Fries was the victim of any injuries inflicted by another person or persons. This investigation is ongoing and detectives hope to have their investigation completed in the near future.
