Not a lot of details still this morning from either agencies after a Chehalis Tribal officer shoots and kills a man that they were searching for that was wanted for Murder in the 1st degree at Lucky Eagle Casino near Rochester, WA Sunday evening.

On Sunday December 10th, 2023 Chehalis Tribal Police were searching for a male suspect to arrest him on two first-degree murder charges and a charge for unlawful possession of a firearm from Pierce County.

Tribal police had information that the man was inside the Lucky Eagle Casino. They attempted to contact the man inside, and during that interaction, a Chehalis Tribal Police officer shot the man. Law enforcement officers attempted life-saving measures, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Because the incident involved

Chehalis Tribal Police in their own jurisdiction, the Bureau of Indian Affairs and the FBI were contacted. The Thurston County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident.
