Suspect Arrested Following Early Morning Stabbing in Aberdeen

On February 16, 2026, at approximately 1:00 a.m., officers with the Aberdeen Police Department were dispatched to the 100 block of West Heron Street following a report of a stabbing.

The reporting party advised dispatch that a male subject had been stabbed in the arm by a suspect known to her. Upon arrival, officers located the adult male victim suffering from a stab wound to his arm and experiencing significant blood loss. The first responding officer applied a tourniquet to control the bleeding until medical personnel arrived.

Officers from the Aberdeen Police Department, assisted by the Hoquiam Police Department and Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s Office, began searching the area for the suspect. During the search, Grays Harbor 911 received a report from a business in the 200 block of East Heron Street regarding a suspicious male on the property.

Responding officers arrived at that location and discovered the stabbing suspect hiding underneath a parked vehicle. Officers issued verbal commands, and the suspect complied by crawling out from under the vehicle. He was taken into custody without incident.

Preliminary investigation indicates that the victim and suspect were known to one another and had been involved in a verbal altercation that escalated, resulting in the stabbing.

The victim was transported by the Aberdeen Fire Department to Harbor Regional Hospital for treatment. The suspect, a 35-year-old Aberdeen resident, was booked into the Aberdeen City Jail on assault-related charges.

The investigation remains ongoing.
