The Hoquiam Police Department says that they apprehended a suspect in a violent assault that occurred Tuesday, May 6th, in the 3000 block of Aberdeen Ave after the suspect had been spotted traveling in a taxi Thursday evening.

While they did not release a lot of details they did say that on 5/6/25, Hoquiam PD responded to Harbor Regional Health after two individuals were assaulted with a weapon at a home on the 3000 block of Aberdeen Ave. Both victims sustained serious head injuries.
On 5/7/25 around 8 PM, the 32-year-old suspect was spotted in a taxi heading west on Sumner Ave. Due to the violent nature of the assault and the suspect’s criminal history, with help from the Aberdeen Regional Special Response Team (SRT)—conducted a high-risk stop in the 1600 block of Sumner Avenue in Aberdeen.
After a short standoff, the suspect surrendered and was arrested. The investigation is ongoing.
