Coroners Office Identfies Fatal Crash Victims From 2 different Collisions

There's no doubt that it's been a tough several weeks for Grays Harbor County residents as we have played witness to several fatality collisions in the county. These collisions have been residents of the county, not tourists as many like to try to make issue with.

The Grays Harbor County Coroners Office has identified Two individuals who were killed in two separate fatality collisions.

 On Friday, September 6th 2024, the Grays Harbor County Coroner’s Office was dispatched to a one vehicle collision on Donkey Creek Road. A male was found deceased inside. He was identified as 71-year-old Michael Baldwin of Humptulips. His next of kin has been notified. The cause and manner of death are pending. An autopsy has been scheduled.

The second collision that we have an update on was Sunday, September 8th, 2024, another fatality collision on Ocean Beach Road near Copalis Crossing. 31-year-old Donna Rose Comenout of Taholah was pronounced deceased at the scene. According to Undersheriff Kevin Schrader of the Grays Harbor Sheriff’s Office A passerby that was traveling behind the passenger car and saw it go off the roadway and roll multiple times. There were two adults and two children in the car. Comenout, who was a passenger and not seat belted, was ejected from the vehicle. Two children were flown to Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

“Speed was possibly a factor. No signs of impairment at this point,” Schrader said. “We’re continuing to gather witness statements and investigate.”
