3 Injured in DUI Collision Monday on State Route 12

The Washington State Patrol says that the cause of yesterday's collision on State Route 12 and Hill RD was caused by failure to yield, the other driver was arrested for DUI.

The collision occurred on State Route 12 and Hill RD on July 31st, 2023 at 7:34 PM when a 2021 silver Honda CRV driven by a 68-year-old Aberdeen woman making a left-hand turn from Hill Road onto State Route 12 to go westbound towards Aberdeen was struck head on by a 1990 Toyota pickup Truck driven by a 23-year-old Tacoma Man.

The Tacoma Man was said to be driving at an extreme high rate of speed according to the report and was also driving under the influence of alcohol and or drugs (not indicated which). 

3 persons were transported to area hospitals for their injuries. Both drivers of the vehicles and a passenger in the Toyota truck a 23-year-old Hoquiam woman.  The Tacoma man was transferred to Tacoma General for his injuries from Community Hospital.
