2 Injured in SR 109 Collision Saturday

Traffic was snarled most of Saturday after an accident on SR 109 Mp 4 had the roadway closed both directions on a busy weekend for the beaches.  More from the Washington State Patrol.

According to a State Patrol report, the accident occurred on June 30th at 1:10 pm on State Route 109 (road to and from Ocean Shores and the beaches to Hoquiam).  

They state that a 19 year old Yakima woman driving a silver Toyota Camry 2 door was traveling southbound sr109 approaching mp4 when she lost control, crossed the center line and collided with a turquoise 1995 Chevrolet pickup that was traveling northbound on 109 driven by a 59-year-old Moclips Man. 

Also in the silver Toyota Camry was a 22-year-old Moses Lake man, who was airlifted to Harborview for his injuries.  The driver (Yakima woman) was transported to Community Hospital.  

The Moclips man the report stated that he was not injured. 

Updated @ 2020 : The cause of the accident, over the center line and negligent driving 2nd degree. The Moclips man has pending charges of DUI. 

The roadway was blocked for 4 hours and 54 minutes.
