According to the Aberdeen police Department, the fake jewelry sales people are back, trying to scam the locals with their fake jewelry.  Here is more from the Aberdeen Police Department:

On 09/01/22 around 3:50 PM, Aberdeen Police were dispatched to a suspicious circumstance in the parking lot at Walmart regarding subjects selling suspected fake jewelry.  Officers contacted the subjects, who admitted the jewelry was not real and that they were telling potential buyers it was not real.

The sellers, who were self-reported travelers from out of the area, were advised to cease and desist by responding officers, and they complied.

The Aberdeen Police Department takes these types of calls seriously and are ready to respond and check on situations citizens feel are suspicious.   In looking out for our citizens and community, APD strongly encourages buyers to beware of what you are buying, especially from private parties.

We would like to thank those who took the time to notify us of this activity.  Together we can make our community safer.  To report suspicious activity, call the non-emergency dispatch line at (360)533-8765.
