Police officers put their lives on the line every day.  They wear protective equipment and vets to protect them from the dangers that are present out there with suspects that have firearms and knives.  What about their K9 partners who do their job protecting the officer?  The Grays Harbor Sheriffs Office says their newest K9 officer is set to get a bullet and stab protective vest thanks to a charitable donation from non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s, Inc.

Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s Office K9 Tango will receive a bullet and stab protective vest thanks to a charitable donation from non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. K9 Tango’s vest is sponsored by an Anonymous Sponsor and will be embroidered with the sentiment “Born to Love-Trained to Serve-Loyal Always”. Delivery is expected within eight to ten weeks.  Tango’s handler, Deputy Justin Rivas, has been working diligently to obtain this added protection for Tango.  The other K9 team for the Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Tracy Gay with K9 Max, already have their bullet and stab protective vest.

Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. is a 501c (3) charity located in East Taunton, MA whose mission is to provide bullet and stab protective vests and other assistance to dogs of law enforcement and related agencies throughout the United States. The non-profit was established in 2009 to assist law enforcement agencies with this potentially lifesaving body armor for their four-legged K9 officers.
