One in custody after Unlawful Display of Weapon and unlawful discharge of a Firearm In Aberdeen.

The Aberdeen Police Department says that one person is in custody after a gunshot was fired Monday afternoon by Valley Cleaners.

On June 12, 2017, about 1210 hours, Aberdeen Police Officers were dispatched to the report of a male discharging a firearm in the area of the Valley Cleaners. 

Dispatch advised that there was a verbal argument and then one of the males displayed a handgun and fired a single round. 

Aberdeen Detectives were close by and arrived first on scene where they gathered a shell casing as evidence. 

Detectives also checked the video recording at the Valley Cleaners and found the altercation on the video.

The suspect was identified and officers were able to track him down as he had left the area. The suspect voluntarily returned to the scene still carrying the handgun.  Based on the video and the investigation by the officers on scene, the suspect was arrested and booked into the Aberdeen Jail for Unlawful Display of a Weapon and Unlawful Discharge of a Weapon.
